Yorkville University’s online Bachelor of Interior Design is offered out of Toronto, Ontario. An applicant may be admitted to the Bachelor of Creative Arts degree program if they meet one of the following sets of requirements:
Admission Path 1
- Completion in good academic standing of a two-year (four-term) diploma from a Canadian college of applied arts and technology or private career college legally recognized in the applicant’s home province (or the equivalent from a post-secondary education institution legally recognized in a jurisdiction outside Canada).
- The diploma must have been earned in one of the creative arts, which include but may not be limited to: music, dance, drama and theatre, writing, interior design and decorating, painting, sculpture, photography, graphics and computer graphics, animation, game design, crafts, industrial design, fashion and costume design, motion pictures, television, radio, video, sound recording.
- The applicant must have graduated with a GPA of at least 2.0 (or the equivalent).
- Equivalent credentials earned in a country other than Canada are accepted.
Admission Path 2
- Completion in good academic standing of a three-year (six-term) diploma from a Canadian college of applied arts and technology or private career college legally recognized in the applicant’s home province (or the equivalent from a post-secondary education institution legally recognized in a jurisdiction outside Canada).

Yorkville University’s Master of Education in Educational Leadership is offered online out of Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Applicants to the program are required to provide the following:
- Official undergraduate transcript and proof of obtainment of a bachelor’s degree*
- Resume and statement of interest
- Detailed course descriptions if applying for transfer credits
- Two letters of reference from professional or academic sources
- Completed online application
- Application fee of $150 (CAD)

In addition, applicants are required to have:
- A cumulative grade point average (CGPA) in undergraduate study of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 or 4.3 scale, or a GPA of at least 3.0 in the final two years of study. Applicants may be conditionally admitted with a GPA between 2.5 and 2.99 if strength of overall application is sufficient.
- Two or more years of relevant employment in education or an education-related field. In some cases, relevant volunteering work in community-based activities may be considered.
Preference will be given to applicants with an undergraduate degree in education or a field related to their field of study.
Applicants seeking admission to the Educational Administration stream of the MEd Educational Leadership program are expected to have gained their education-related experience in the K-12 school system. Applicants who do not meet the standard admissions requirements may be considered for admission under the Faculty of Education’s Flexible Admissions Policy. Do I need a study permit to attend Yorkville University?
If you are an international student, a study permit must be obtained before classes start. The study permit can be applied for online, at a Canadian consular office abroad, or in Canada. Please see here for more information.
Can I apply for a PGWP if I study at Yorkville University?
International students who continuously study full time on campus for the majority of their courses and graduate may also apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which can be valid for up to three years and offers a path to permanent residency status in Canada. A student’s spouse or common-law partner may also apply for an open work permit. Please see here for more information.
Can I work part time if I am an international student?
As a condition of their study permit, international students who study on campus may be eligible to work part time up to 20 hours per week during semester and up to 30 hours per week study during break periods.
How is it possible to shorten my program duration?
If you have previous post-secondary education or military service, you can apply for transfer credits toward completion of your program.
For some programs, students can also use an approved term break to study year-round instead of having an academic term off. Please contact an Admissions Advisor below for more information.
Can I substitute online courses for on-campus courses and vice versa?
International students are only eligible to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) if they have continuously studied full-time in Canada with more than 50 percent of their studies completed on campus. Small class sizes, group learning modules and a robust online community provide an enhanced learning environment for our online students.
